Description

Introducing the Hot Rod Kit TRX400EX, designed for high-performance and reliability. This kit includes heavy-duty OE replacement connecting rods made from certified 8620 AISI steel, ensuring superior strength and durability. The crankpins are crafted from hot-rolled ASTM 4115 steel and case-hardened to a level of 58-62Rc for enhanced longevity. The connecting rods feature the latest caged needle roller bearing designs to support high RPMs, while the uniquely designed big end incorporates side scalloping and vent slots to minimize bearing race distortion at high speeds. Small ends are double drilled, providing extra lubrication and cooling to the wrist pin bearing, crucial when the piston crown is close. For added reliability, the rods are shot-peened to eliminate surface stress risers and double honed to create an ultra-round bearing surface. Each rod assembly includes a connecting rod, crank pin, crank pin bearing, top-end bearing, and silver-coated bronze phosphor thrust washers. The kit is compatible with both Hot Rods and OE crankshafts, offering an affordable, premium-quality replacement solution that includes high-tech crank and wrist pin bearings. The AISI carburized crank pin and silver-coated crank pin bearing ensure improved sliding and reduced temperatures. The forged rod, with copper-coated surfaces, protects the rod beam from brittleness during the case-hardening process, resulting in a product that is both strong and durable.
